Finances: For the past 11 years we have lived on dana, freely given assistance, primarily from individuals.. I remain amazed and profoundly grateful for the opportunity this provides us. Institutional donors and family foundations have included Khane Khane, Peacefuldwelling; the DGL Memorial Foundation; Goldman Sachs (employee matching grant); Firefly Mission; Silicon Valley Community Foundation; and the GDG Foundation.

This year’s budget again includes major necessary increases. Our budget for direct aid, 100% of which goes directly to patients, has increased, as has the work necessary to administer it meticulously. Adequate protective equipment in the presence of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, is expensive but essential. We were forced to move; the space is much larger, the rent only slightly so. The cost of living in Cambodia continues to rise. Staff salaries need to allow people, including myself, to support themselves. Our financial records are open for inspection by anyone who wishes to see them.
